Rural Women’s Conference a Success

We were happy to be a part of the Rural Women’s Conference at Clymont Hall near Devon, Alberta. We had a great presentation that we just revamped, and we had a lot of good feedback and questions related to Our Green Year.

We met a lot of nice people there, including Jim Hole, who was nice enough to come over and talk to us after our presentation. We debuted a new revamped presentation and are hoping that everyone liked it. Over 250 people were in attendance at this popular event.

Looking forward to Urban Grassland’s talk in two weeks!

Wetaskawin Tomorrow Talk A Big Success!

On Nov. 18, Layla and I talked to the people of Wetaskawin about their journey to go green and how everyone can go green. There was a good turnout at the event, put on by Wetaskawin Tomorrow, and there were many great questions.

It was great to see a city in Alberta looking to the future and planning a more sustainable tomorrow. Everyone was very nice and both Layla and I were happy to meet with everyone and show what Our Green Year was all about.

Craig and Layla to speak at “Students for Sustainable Schools”

Craig and Layla are happy to announce that they are going to be speaking on Jan. 29, at the Students for Sustainable Schools event in Edmonton, put on by Edmonton Public Schools.

The event, which will feature 100 students and teachers from across the city, is being put on to help provide students the opportunity to explore initiatives and organizations that support increased environmental action in schools.

Join Craig and Layla in Wetaskawin

This Wednesday, Craig and Layla will be in Wetaskawin talking about going green for an entire year and some of the things that they learned about going green.

The event kicks off at 7:00 pm, upstairs at the newly renovated Wetaskiwin City Hall. In addition to the Bairds, there will also be eco-giveaways, cookies and a  brief update on the Wetaskiwin Tomorrow initiative.
